Pricing, Explained
Most of our jewellery is priced by weight rather than a fixed tag, because gold's value moves with the market. Here is exactly how a price is built.
The formula
Price = (Gold rate for the item's karat x weight in grams) + Making charge + GST
- Gold rate: the current market rate for the item's karat (for example 22K or 18K), updated periodically by us from a public reference rate.
- Weight: the item's actual gold weight in grams, as recorded for that product. Any gemstone or diamond weight is priced separately, where applicable.
- Making charge: the cost of craftsmanship, shown as its own line item - either a fixed amount or a per-gram rate depending on the design.
- GST: Goods and Services Tax, applied per current Indian tax rules for jewellery.
Worked example (illustration only)
The numbers below are hypothetical, for illustration only. They are not a live gold rate, a real product price, or a quote - see the actual product page for real pricing.
Illustrative price breakdown for a hypothetical 10 gram, 22K gold piece
| Line item | Illustrative amount |
|---|---|
| Gold value (illustrative rate x 10 g) | ₹58,000 |
| Making charge (illustrative) | ₹4,500 |
| Subtotal | ₹62,500 |
| GST (illustrative rate) | ₹1,875 |
| Total (illustrative) | ₹64,375 |
"Price on request" items
Some products - typically pieces with diamonds or a design whose making charge isn't finalised yet - are marked "Price on request" instead of a fixed price. These can't be added to cart at checkout; contact us and we'll work out a gold-rate-linked quote with you directly.
Why the displayed price can change
Because the gold rate moves with the market, the price shown on a product page reflects the gold rate at the time you view it, and is confirmed again at checkout before you pay. It can differ slightly from the price you saw earlier if the gold rate has since been updated.
