Ring size chart (standard Indian sizing)
Indian jewellers commonly size rings on a numeric scale tied to the finger's internal diameter and circumference. The table below is a standard reference chart, not specific to any one product.
Standard Indian ring size reference (diameter and circumference in millimetres)
| Ring size | Diameter (mm) | Circumference (mm) |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 15.3 | 48.0 |
| 9 | 15.7 | 49.3 |
| 10 | 16.1 | 50.6 |
| 11 | 16.5 | 51.8 |
| 12 | 16.9 | 53.1 |
| 13 | 17.3 | 54.4 |
| 14 | 17.7 | 55.7 |
| 15 | 18.1 | 56.9 |
| 16 | 18.5 | 58.2 |
| 17 | 18.9 | 59.5 |
| 18 | 19.3 | 60.7 |
| 19 | 19.7 | 62.0 |
| 20 | 20.1 | 63.3 |
| 21 | 20.5 | 64.5 |
| 22 | 20.9 | 65.8 |
| 23 | 21.3 | 67.1 |
| 24 | 21.7 | 68.3 |
Figures are approximate, standard reference values used across the Indian jewellery trade. Actual fit can vary slightly by ring width and band profile.
How to measure your ring size at home
- Wrap a strip of paper or string snugly around the base of the finger you'll wear the ring on.
- Mark where the paper or string overlaps, then measure that length flat against a ruler in millimetres - this is your circumference.
- Compare your circumference to the chart above to find the closest matching size.
- Measure at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest, and avoid measuring when your hands are cold.
Bangle size chart (standard Indian sizing)
Indian bangles are commonly sized using a notation such as 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 2.10, where the number after the dot represents eighths of an inch added to the base size. The table below gives the approximate inner diameter for each.
Standard Indian bangle size reference
| Bangle size | Inner diameter (inches) | Inner diameter (cm) |
|---|---|---|
| 2.2 | 2.25" | 5.7 cm |
| 2.4 | 2.5" | 6.4 cm |
| 2.6 | 2.75" | 7.0 cm |
| 2.8 | 3.0" | 7.6 cm |
| 2.10 | 3.25" | 8.3 cm |
How to measure your bangle size at home
- Fold your thumb into your palm as tightly as possible - this is roughly the hand shape a bangle must pass over.
- Wrap a measuring tape or string around the widest part of your hand in that folded position.
- Measure the length in inches, then divide by pi (about 3.14) to get the approximate diameter, or compare directly to a bangle you already own that fits well.
- Compare your result to the chart above to find the closest matching size.
